Xelda

Xelda is a game I did for the TINS Competition 2005. The first version of the game was written in only 72 hours, but already it had a decent 15 minutes worth of gameplay. It is intended to be a funny parody of Zelda games, and people tell me that it got a few laughs out of them. That is probably why it got shared first place in the genre category of the TINS competition.

In the game you play as Pink, the hero, who has to save princess Xelda (again...). Make your way through three scary levels guarded by many cute furry animals. You can use your sword to break skull blocks and hack your way through. At the end of each level you have to pick up a certain mythical object, and then you pass to the next level.

The competition had a few additional requirements. Notably:
parody
The game is a parody on Zelda. I've tried to make fun of the fact that zelda always needs to be rescued, and also of the general image of nintendo that their games are too childish.
Have something unlockable
There is a hidden menu option that turns on god mode. You unlock it by finishing the game
A troll
If you finish the game you'll see for yourself :)
Sine waves
The only sine present in the entire game is in the animation you can see in the main menu. And that is actually a cosine :)
